What is Comfort Eating?
A recent survey reported by the BBC (item 3592058) informs us that 43% of the nation use food to alter their mood - this figure is moving towards the estimated 61% of USA citizens who "eat emotionally". Notice the subtle difference in the words - in the UK "comfort eating" describes what the Northern Americans call "emotional eating" - in truth "emotional eating" does get to the point much more sucsinctly!

Our Quit Comfort Eating workshops will demonstrate a different way to curb those bouts of comfort eating that hit you in times of stress or unhappiness. With comfort eating comes feelings of self-loathing, lowering of self-esteem and self-worth and a deep sense of failure in yourself. All these commonly felt feelings are often accompanied by lack of weight control which in turn can often lead to a lowering of self-confidence.
